Basic Novice Forklift Training Course

Our courses can be tailored to your needs to ensure you receive the necessary training and certification to operate a forklift safely and effectively. Our instructor can travel to you, or courses can be taken in our centres based in Kidderminster and Redditch.

Basic novice forklift training course

This course is ideal for beginners who may never have operated a forklift before and will provide the necessary skills to operate one effectively, as well as carry out a pre-use inspection and understand causes of instability in trucks and loads.

All training is fully compliant with the Health & Safety Executive Approved Code of Practice recommendations.

How long does this course last?

Course duration will depend on how many delegates attend the training. Typical durations are as follows:

  • One delegate: three days
  • Two delegates: four days
  • Three delegates (maximum): duration five days

Who should take a basic novice forklift training course?

Any personnel who will be responsible for the safe use forklift trucks.

What level of skill is required?

Delegates are not required to have any previous experience in operating forklift trucks.

How is this course assessed?

Through practical assessment and a written theory test.

What certification will I receive?
After training has been completed, you will receive a certificate of competency through nationally recognised accrediting body AITT. It is recommended by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) that knowledge is updated every three to five years through a refresher course to maintain standards in health & safety and efficiency.
